One sheep wandered away. The shepherd did not accept the loss. He left the ninety-nine and searched until he found the one, carried it home and celebrated. Jesus made the message unmistakable: every single person matters.
Jesus gave value a face. The crowd did not erase the individual, and the ninety-nine did not make the one disposable. In one simple image of a shepherd searching, He showed a love that notices, pursues and refuses to give up on the lost.
